Courier and Interlibrary loan services

A book courier runs daily (Mon-Fri) between the HSG library and the Hauptpost Library.

You can order documents and pick them up at the library of your choice the next working day:

•  from the collection of the Cantonal Library Vadiana
•  from the collection of the HSG Library

This service is free of charge. The documents can be returned to both libraries. Please observe the borrowing regulations of the library supplying the document.

You can order HSG documents from the Speicherbiblothek or documents from certain libraries via swissbib and collect them at the HSG library. Conversely, you can also pick up HSG Library documents (including those located at the Speicherbibliothek) at one of the participating libraries.

• We charge CHF 5.00 per document for this service (Exception: Deliveries of HSG documents from the Speicherbibliothek to the HSG Library are free).
• Delivery time is generally 2-3 working days (Monday to Friday).
• Please observe the borrowing regulations of the supplier library. 
• Documents are usually kept for collection for one week. 
• For documents that are not collected, an additional fee of CHF 5.00 will be charged. 
• Returning the books to all participating libraries is free of charge.

Overview of available pickup libraries:

You can have documents sent directly to your house by mail from most of the libraries in Swissbib.

You can order the documents in Swissbib from the desired supplier library. The document will then be posted to you (B Mail). This is a paid service.

Note

• The borrowing regulations and fees of the respective library apply.
• Order the document from the desired supplier library and select "Mailing" as the collection location. 
• The document will be delivered to your address as given in your user account after 3-4 working days.
• You can pay the fee when you next visit the library or you will be sent an invoice.

If you are looking for a book that is not in any library, or you cannot place the order yourself, we will be happy to order it for you.

This service involves a charge and can take several days or even weeks depending on the library supplying the book. To carry out your inter-library loan order for you, we need a few details. Please fill in this form.

We are happy to receive your suggestions for the purchase of new media that fit our collection. 

Please complete the purchase suggestion form with as much information as possible.

• Check our Metasearch or Swissbib for the journal title the article appeared in.
• go to "Location and request" or "Holdings"
• select the corresponding year or volume
• go to "order copy" 
• choose from delivery options and add details about the article (author, title, pages).

Notice

• You will be prompted to login during the ordering process.
• Your orders are usually sent within one working day, either to your e-mail address (as a PDF file), or to a postal address (as a photocopy) that is registered in your user account.
• You can pay the fee after receiving the bill, or directly in the supplying library.
• Swiss Copyright Law does not allow copying a full book. However, copying of essays, articles and excerpts is allowed.

In case the desired article is not available in our library nor in Swissbib, or cannot be ordered by you personally, we will be happy to help you.
